Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 5 cans 5 (14.5 ounce) cans French-style green beans, drained Can substitute with two pounds of frozen trimmed green beans or 2.5 pounds fresh blanched green beans.
  • 1 pound 1 pound processed cheese, cubed (Velveeta or similar) For a less-processed option, use a mix of sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack.
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon dried dill, or to taste Can substitute with dried parsley, chives, or 1-2 teaspoons of lemon zest.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drain all five cans of French-style green beans well, shaking or pressing to remove excess liquid.
  3. In a 9x13-inch casserole dish, add the drained green beans.
  4. Scatter the cubed processed cheese evenly over the beans and sprinkle the dried dill on top.
  5. Gently stir to combine, ensuring some cheese is mixed in and some stays on top.
Baking
  1. Place the casserole in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes, stirring once or twice during baking.
  2. Bake until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling. Optionally, broil for 1-2 minutes for a lightly browned top, watching closely.

Notes

Cool leftovers to room temperature and store in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes (covered) or microwave individual portions on high for 1-2 minutes.
