Ingredients

Brownie Layer
  • 1 box Boxed brownie mix Plus eggs and oil as required by the box
Cheesecake Layer
  • 8 oz Cream cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup Granulated sugar Adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 cups Whipped cream Stabilized or store-bought whipped topping works fine
Oreo Layer
  • 12 to 16 Oreo cookies Set a few whole or halved aside for garnish

Method

Bake the Brownies
  1. Prepare the boxed mix according to package directions. Bake in the recommended pan, cool completely, then cut or crumble into bite-sized pieces.
Make the Cheesecake Layer
  1. Beat the softened cream cheese with 1/3 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth and lump-free.
  2. Gently fold 1–2 cups of whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until evenly combined and airy.
Prep the Oreos
  1. Coarsely crush most of the Oreos by hand or in a zip-top bag with a rolling pin. Reserve several cookies for decorating.
Layer the Trifle
  1. In a trifle bowl or individual glasses, start with a layer of brownie pieces, spoon on the cheesecake mixture, and sprinkle crushed Oreos. Repeat layers until you reach the top.
Finish and Chill
  1. Top with remaining whipped cream and arrange reserved Oreo pieces. Chill for at least 2 hours or overnight so the cheesecake layer firms and flavors meld.
  2. Serve cold straight from the fridge.

Notes

Serve with coffee or espresso, or a tart fruit compote to cut sweetness. Store tightly covered in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
