  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Dutch-processed cocoa can also be used for a milder flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips You can also try adding white chocolate or peanut butter chips.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips to enhance the fudgy flavor.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Once cooled, sprinkle rainbow sprinkles on top before cutting into squares.

Notes

These brownies are best enjoyed on their own or paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature or refrigerate for about a week. For freezing, wrap individually and place them in a freezer-safe container; they can last up to three months.
