Ingredients
  

For the Mac and Cheese
  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni Cook according to package instructions
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Use fresh grated for creamier texture
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter For making roux
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour For thickening cheese sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the Chicken
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For dredging
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup honey For glaze
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper To taste
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes Optional
  • Oil for frying Use enough to cover the bottom of the pan

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to form a roux.
  3. Slowly pour in milk while constantly stirring, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  4. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Mix cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce.
  5. Pound chicken breasts until evenly flattened. Dredge in flour, then coat with breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. In a bowl, mix honey, black pepper, and chili flakes. Drizzle this mixture over the crispy fried chicken.
Serving
  1. Plate the mac and cheese and top it with the crispy honey pepper chicken.

Notes

Best served hot. Garnish with fresh herbs for added flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
