Main Ingredients
  • 4 14.5 oz cans French-cut green beans, drained Use canned for convenience.
  • 2 10 oz cans cream of mushroom soup Check for gluten-free options if needed.
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk Can substitute with regular milk or half-and-half.
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional, for extra heat.
  • 6 oz French fried onions, divided Reserve half for topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Drain all four cans of green beans and add them to the crock pot.
  2. Spoon in both cans of cream of mushroom soup.
  3. Pour 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk over the beans and soup.
  4. Add 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper and optional red pepper flakes.
  5. Stir in 1/2 cup of the French fried onions.
  6. Secure the lid and set the slow cooker to HIGH. Cook for 2-3 hours.
  7. After cooking, switch the crock pot to the warm setting.
  8. When ready to serve, sprinkle the remaining French fried onions over the top.

Notes

This casserole is great for holidays and pairs well with a variety of main dishes. Make sure to reserve some fried onions for topping to keep them crunchy.
