Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 3 medium Ripe bananas Choose bananas that are just ripe for optimal sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice Used to prevent browning of the banana slices.
  • 1 cup Water To mix with lemon juice for soaking the banana slices.

Method

Preparation
  1. Peel the bananas and slice them thinly for optimal drying.
  2. In a bowl, mix the water and lemon juice to create your protective soaking solution.
  3. Dip each banana slice in the lemon water to prevent any browning.
Dehydrating
  1. Arrange the banana slices on the dehydrator trays in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
  2. Set the dehydrator to 135°F (57°C) and allow the bananas to dry for about 6-12 hours, or until they become crisp and retain no moisture.
  3. Let the chips cool before storing them in an airtight container.

Notes

For best results, ensure banana slices are evenly thin for consistent drying. Consider vacuum-sealing for long-term storage. Dust with cocoa or sprinkle with cinnamon for variations.
