Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Spoon into the cup and level for accuracy
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk gives best texture; low-fat works in a pinch

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Whisk to distribute the leavening.
  3. Pour in the milk gradually and stir with a spoon until the dough just comes together. It should be a soft, sticky mass — don’t overwork it.
Baking
  1. Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1–2 inches between biscuits.
  2. Bake for 15–20 minutes, rotating the pan halfway if your oven bakes unevenly, until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
  3. Remove from oven and serve warm.

Notes

For richer flavor, swap half the milk for buttermilk or add 1–2 tablespoons melted butter to the dough. For gluten-free option, use a 1:1 all-purpose gluten-free flour blend.
