Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (unsweetened and unsalted) Ensure the peanut butter is free of additives.
  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour (or another grain-free flour) Oat flour or coconut flour can be used as substitutes.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional) Skip if sugar is a concern for your dog.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, egg, and honey until everything is well combined.
  3. Gradually add the almond flour and cinnamon, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters.
  6. Place the cut treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature. They can also be frozen for longer storage. Rolling the dough thick enough will help sustain the shape during baking.
