Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups white rice flour Can substitute with whole wheat or oat flour.
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 7.5 oz can pumpkin Pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • 1/2 cup water Adjust as needed for dough consistency.
  • 1/2 tbsp cinnamon Optional for added flavor.
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp honey Optional; make sure it is safe for dogs.
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter Ensure it does not contain xylitol.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix thoroughly to combine all the ingredients into a cohesive dough.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to approximately 1/4-inch thick.
  4. Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into bone shapes.
  5. Combine any leftover dough scraps and continue rolling out and cutting shapes until the dough is fully used.
  6. Place the shaped cookies on an ungreased, foil-lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F for 30-35 minutes.
Serving
  1. Let the treats cool completely before serving.
  2. Offer them as a delightful surprise after your dog’s walk or as a regular meal addition.
  3. Store in a fun jar for presentation.

Notes

Keep treats fresh in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them separated with parchment paper.
