Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb salmon fillet, cut into bite-sized pieces (about 1–1.5 inch cubes) Skin-on fillets can be used; skin can be removed or served skin-side down.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade) For less heat, use regular honey and add 1/4 tsp chili flakes.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (use tamari for gluten-free) Can use coconut aminos as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the salmon pieces dry with paper towels. Toss them in a bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Arrange the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring there's no overcrowding.
  2. Air fry for 8–10 minutes. Check at 8 minutes; the salmon should flake easily with a fork and register around 125–135°F (52–57°C). Cook an additional minute or two for firmer doneness.
  3. While the salmon cooks, combine the hot honey and soy sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Warm until just fluid and combined—about 1–2 minutes—then remove from heat.
  4. Transfer the cooked salmon to a serving plate and drizzle the warm hot honey glaze over the bites. Toss gently for even coverage.
  5. Serve immediately as an appetizer or pair with simple sides for a main course.

Notes

Cool leftovers to room temperature and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Alternatively, freeze cooked salmon bites in a freezer-safe container for up to 1 month.
