  • 8 pieces lasagna noodles
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Layering
  1. In an 8x8 pan, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom.
  2. Layer 2 cooked noodles over the sauce.
  3. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by more marinara sauce and a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  4. Repeat the layers: noodles, ricotta mixture, marinara, and mozzarella.
  5. Top with remaining noodles, marinara sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  3. Allow the lasagna to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, or frozen for up to 3 months. To reheat, allow to come to room temperature, then bake until hot throughout.
