  • 4 cups Chex cereal
  • 1 cup red candy melts
  • 1 cup white candy melts
  • 1 cup blue candy melts
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter For a nut-free version, consider using sun butter.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup M&M's
  • optional Pop Rocks For extra fun.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Measure out the Chex cereal in a large bowl.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the red, white, and blue candy melts separately, following the package instructions.
  3. Stir in the creamy peanut butter into each melted candy until smooth and well combined.
  4. Pour the melted candy mixture over the Chex cereal and gently stir to coat the cereal evenly.
  5. In a large resealable bag, add powdered sugar, then add the coated Chex mixture, seal the bag, and shake well to coat.
  6. Spread the Muddy Buddies onto a baking sheet to let them cool down.
  7. Once cooled, sprinkle M&M's and Pop Rocks on top for added decoration and flavor, if desired.
  8. Serve and enjoy these delightful treats at your next gathering!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Best enjoyed within a week, can be frozen for longer storage. When freezing, separate layers with parchment paper.
