Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup xylitol-free peanut butter Choose xylitol-free peanut butter as xylitol is harmful to dogs.
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour Other flours like oats or almond flour can be used, but may affect texture.
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup water (as needed) Add water little by little to get the right dough consistency.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree and peanut butter until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the whole wheat flour and rolled oats to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. If the dough is too dry, add water a little at a time until it reaches a workable consistency.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the biscuits.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and crunchy.
  9. Allow to cool before serving to your dog.

Notes

To store, let the biscuits cool completely before placing them in an airtight container. They can be kept at room temperature for about a week or frozen for longer storage. Adjust the size of biscuits based on your dog's size.
