Ingredients

For the treats
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats Blend into a flour-like consistency
  • 1 medium banana Use ripe bananas for better sweetness
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter Use creamy peanut butter without xylitol
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons flour Use if necessary for dusting
  • 1-2 tablespoons water Add if the dough is too dry

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, set aside.
  2. Add oats to a food processor and blend for 30 to 60 seconds until they resemble a flour-like consistency.
  3. Add the peanut butter, banana, and egg to the food processor. Blend until the mixture forms a uniform dough.
  4. If the dough seems too dry, add water as needed and blend again.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a countertop; if it’s sticky, sprinkle flour on the surface and knead it in.
  6. Roll the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
  7. Place the cutouts onto the baking sheet. Gather any scraps, re-roll, and cut more shapes until all the dough is used.
  8. Bake for 16-18 minutes, rotating the trays halfway through baking.
  9. Allow to cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature. For longer storage, consider freezing them. Use creamy peanut butter without xylitol and ensure bananas are ripe.
