Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 cup pure pumpkin puree (unsweetened, no spices) Ensure it's pureed and without added ingredients.
  • 2 cups oat flour (or finely blended oats) You can blend regular oats in a food processor for a homemade option.
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter (ensure it's xylitol-free) Xylitol is toxic to dogs.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Optional ingredient.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine pumpkin puree, applesauce, and peanut butter. Mix until smooth.
  3. Gradually stir in the oat flour and cinnamon (if using). The dough should be thick but slightly sticky.
  4. Take small portions of dough and roll them into sticks, approximately 4–5 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Place the sticks on your prepared baking sheet, ensuring you leave some space between each one.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the sticks are firm to the touch.
  7. Let them cool completely on a wire rack before serving them to your pup.
