Ingredients
  

For the Steak
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes (about 1–1.5 inch) Choose sirloin for a balance of flavor and price.
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce Substitute tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1/4 cup beef broth Use low-sodium or homemade.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Or use 1 tsp garlic powder in a pinch.
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika Regular paprika is fine.
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces Can use ghee for dairy-free.
  • to taste fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish Optional.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Place the steak cubes into the crockpot. Pour the marinade over the steak and toss gently to coat every piece.
  4. Dot the top of the steak with the small pieces of butter.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours, or on HIGH for 2–3 hours.
  2. The steak should be tender and easily pierced with a fork.
Serving
  1. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed.
  2. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours and store in an airtight container. Use within 3–4 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating. Do not leave cooked meat at room temperature for more than 2 hours to reduce bacterial risk.
