Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups desiccated coconut, plus extra for rolling Use finely shredded coconut if desiccated coconut isn't available.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Sift if lumpy.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts, dried fruits, or small candies Optional.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a large bowl.
  2. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir until completely smooth.
  3. Fold in the 2 cups of desiccated coconut until evenly combined and sticky.
  4. If using, gently stir in nuts, dried fruit, or small candies to keep the mixture cohesive.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30–45 minutes until firm enough to scoop.
  6. Use a small scoop or teaspoon to portion about 1-inch balls. Roll them between your palms until smooth.
  7. Roll each ball in extra desiccated coconut, tapping off excess, and arrange on a tray.
  8. Chill for another 15–20 minutes to set. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

For uniform size, use a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop to speed up rolling. If the mixture sticks to your hands, lightly dampen your palms or coat them with a little neutral oil before rolling. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
