Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup plain pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and eggs.
  3. If using Ceylon cinnamon and ground ginger, add them at this stage and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the whole wheat flour, mixing with your hands as needed to form a dough.
  5. Chill the dough in the fridge for 30 to 60 minutes to make it easier to roll out.
Baking
  1. Roll out the dough on a floured surface, then cut it into fun shapes using cookie cutters.
  2. Place the cut shapes on a lined baking sheet and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
  3. Once baked, let them cool completely and serve to your beloved pets. Store any extras in an airtight container.

Notes

These treats can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or they can be frozen for up to three months. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Use a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and promote even cooking.
