Main Ingredients
  • ½ cup ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter Use for melting in baking dish.
  • cups 4½ cups Bisquick (or similar baking mix) Can substitute with all-purpose flour and baking powder if needed.
  • 1 cup 1 cup 7-Up A lemon-lime soda that adds lift.
  • 1 cup 1 cup sour cream Full-fat sour cream gives the best texture.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and place a 9x13-inch baking dish with the butter inside until melted.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together Bisquick, 7-Up, and full-fat sour cream until combined.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and pat or roll into a 1-inch thick round.
  2. Cut out rounds and place them in the hot melted butter, spacing them slightly apart.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Let the biscuits sit in the butter for a minute after baking to absorb extra flavor.

Notes

Store cooled biscuits in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature. Refrigerate for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat gently to avoid drying out.
